Employees, particularly in a manufacturing or industrial setting, need to have their tetanus immunizations kept up-to-date. For a clean minor wound, tetanus immunization would be indicated if it has been over 10 years since the last dose (if the person had previously completed a 3-shot series of tetanus immunization). For all other wounds, tetanus immunization is indicated if it has been over 5 years since the last tetanus immunization.
